D3 updating setup files stuck
Exe from this folder before it restarts itself in task manager (A DOS window will appear, let it run all the way, it will close itself) Once it finishes, the Launcher will die. Note, I ran Agent.524 first, not sure if that is a pertinent step or not, if it is, insert it before Agent.868. What if this same issue appears with the full game? Whenever you start the install, first wait for to appear in the Processes tab in Task Manager, then kill it. But as the shadow once again crawls across our world...
If this works for you guys can you add it to the forums? Try rebooting the system into 'Safe Mode with Networking' (mash on F8 just before the windows logo comes up). After that, the update will most likely freeze, if it does reboot back to normal mode. Start the manually, but before it restarts on its own. and the stench of terror drifts on a bitter wind...
Please help Hello, Can you please remove this folder:[WINDOWS XP]C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Battle.net[WINDOWS VISTA/7]C:\Program Data\Once here, right click on the Agent folder and select Rename. Temp to ensure that it is not recognised by the game the next time it launches.
After a reasonable hiatus from Blizzard games, I have decided to reinstall Diablo 3.
If you leave it ~5min you get an error saying if it persists restart your pc or re-install the game.2)Updating tools ~ freeze.3) Downloading update ~ it goes crazy, 0% to 33% - 60% - 100% - 0% ~ freeze.4) Downloading update ~ complete. Everytime it doesn't work, i delete my agent folder from C:\Program Data\directory entirely.
But first i close the Agent process from my task manager.
Next time you run the launcher it should skip the 'Updating Tools' part and begin downloading the patch/update whatever it happens to be. EDIT: I would like to add that I personally have not had this issue since the last tools update (the one a few days ago, not patch 16). But as the shadow once again crawls across our world... This will open the DOS-like program that needs to stay opened through the whole installation. Once the game is installed, you can play with no trouble at all.
This is the only way I've ever been able to get by the "Stuck at 60% Updating Tools" issue. Not sure if they 'fixed' it or if my Windows finally 'just' started to let it work. Running on Vista 64-bit myself, and got into this problem too. and the stench of terror drifts on a bitter wind... For example if i end the agent process, don't delete the agent folder and reload the after i get stuck on "updating tools" it will continue to get stuck on updating tools untill i delete the agent folder.... It seems as though you're playing your own lottery.
